La Bella Ape was born from a love of design, nostalgia, and celebration. After years working in creative industries and designing countless events, we fell in love with the charm of the Ape Piaggio —
a timeless symbol of Italian ingenuity.

The Ape Piaggio has been a staple of Italian streets since 1948 — originally created to transport goods through the narrow alleys of cities like Palermo. We sourced our three carts directly from Palermo, Italy, and began lovingly restoring them piece by piece. From repairing rust and refinishing the bodywork to reupholstering seats and rebuilding their interiors, we preserved their character while giving them new life.
